As the commercial building initiative of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, BetterBricks champions the guiding principle that commercial buildings should be designed and operated with energy top of mind.  The goal is to accelerate the adoption of energy efficiency best practices among real-world building professionals.

Energy is more than just a fixed line item in an operating budget.  When truly considered as a controllable expense, it can have a profound impact on the bottom line – not to mention our environment.  NEEA’s BetterBricks initiative provides education & training workshops, seminars and conferences to equip Northwest building professionals with technical and business skills to help them better incorporate energy efficiency into their business practices.

Not only do commercial buildings represent a staggering drain on energy, they also have the awesome potential to reframe our energy demands and carbon output.  To realize that potential, this initiative provides practical information, strategies and examples that demonstrate how to reduce energy use in new and existing commercial buildings.   Articles, research, tools and case studies supply the best and most useful information on a variety of energy efficient topics.  Programs such as the Kilowatt Crackdown, Carbon4Square, ASHE Region 10 E2C and the BetterBricks Awards salute the leaders who are championing energy efficiency in their industry.
