2010 BetterBricks Awards - Puget Sound
A total of 11 green building professionals were recognized at the Seattle Art Museum's Olympic Sculpture Park the evening of March 25th.
2010 BetterBricks Awards - Oregon/SW Washington
Over 250 people attended the seventh annual Oregon/SW Washington awards on Feb. 11 at the Nines Hotel. A total of 12 green building professionals were honored. The keynote address was given by Stephen Wright, Administrator of the Bonneville Power Administration.
2009 BetterBricks Awards - Montana
At the first annual Montana BetterBricks Awards, three outstanding leaders in the green building industry were honored for their efforts by BetterBricks along with NorthWestern Energy and the Montana Electric Cooperative Association (MECA). The event was held in conjunction with the Montana Ambassadors Annual Conference and the keynote speaker was T. Boone Pickens, the oil and gas entrepreneur, who spoke about his plan to reinvest in America and renewable energy.
2008 BetterBricks Awards - Puget Sound
The fourth annual Puget Sound awards honored a total of 10 green building professionals on Oct. 17 at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Nearly 150 were in attendance to listen to David Crane, the keynote speaker. As the Special Advisor to Governor Schwarzenegger on Jobs and Economic Growth, Crane discussed the sustainability efforts of the State of California and the role energy efficiency in economic growth.
2008 BetterBricks Awards - Idaho
The fifth annual Idaho awards honored a total of eight building professionals on Oct. 22 at the Boise Riverside Doubletree where Ed Mazria, AIA was the keynote speaker. Mazria gave a presentation to over 100 attendees about the 2030 Challenge, which was issued in January 2006 to influence architects to design carbon neutral buildings as the norm by 2030.
2008 BetterBricks Awards - Oregon/SW Washingon
Over 250 people attended the sixth annual Oregon/SW Washington awards on Oct. 10 at the Hilton Portland. A total of nine green building professionals were honored. Breann Walraven, RPA, CPM was the keynote speaker. Walraven is the Managing Director of National Property Management for USAA Real Estate and former National President of BOMA. She spoke about the financial benefits of energy efficiency, national real estate trends and future carbron emission legislation.
2007 BetterBricks Awards - Puget Sound
Nearly two hundred people started their day early to honor champions of high performance building in Washington. The third annual BetterBricks Awards breakfast was held Thursday morning at Bell Harbor International Conference Center where Nancy Floyd, founder and managing director of Nth Power, was the keynote speaker. Floyd spoke to the group about investment from venture capital firms in energy efficiency and clean energy.
2007 BetterBricks Awards - Idaho
Over one hundred people came to honor champions of high performance building in Idaho on Wednesday. The fourth annual BetterBricks Awards reception was held this week in conjunction with the Idaho Energy Conference at the Riverside Doubletree in Boise. Greg Franta, Principal Architect and Team Leader for the Rocky Mountain Institute Built Environment Team, was the keynote speaker.
2007 BetterBricks Awards – Portland
Nearly three hundred Oregonians started their day early to honor champions of high performance building in Oregon. The fifth annual BetterBricks Awards breakfast was held this morning at the Portland Hilton where Nancy Floyd, founder and managing director of Nth Power was the keynote speaker. Floyd spoke to the group about the investment from venture capital firms in energy efficiency and clean energy. At an announcement that Al Gore had just won the Nobel Peace Prize, the crowd erupted in applause.
2006 BetterBricks Awards - Idaho
Energy Awareness Month turned into a golden opportunity for honoring champions of energy efficient, green buildings in the Northwest. In October, Boise saluted winners of the 2006 BetterBricks Awards. The third annual Idaho awards were presented in Boise, to a crowd of 100 people in conjunction with the Idaho Energy Conference. 2005 BetterBricks: BetterBricks Awards - Portland
For the third consecutive year, BetterBricks honored five commercial building professionals for their commitment to sustainable, high performance building in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Joe Van Belleghem, partner at Windmill Development, a Vancouver, B.C.-based company, which focuses solely on sustainable projects, spoke to a full house at the 2005 BetterBricks Awards, held at the Oregon Zoo. Honorees were awarded for their leadership in four categories; Architect, Engineer, Service Provider/Facility Management Professional and Professional Services. There were no winners in the Developer category.

For the very first time, BetterBricks honored eight commercial building professionals for their commitment to sustainable, high performance building in the Puget Sound area last week. Honorees were awarded for their leadership in five categories; Architect, Engineer, Developer, Service Provider/Facility Management Professional and Professional Services.
2005 BetterBricks: BetterBricks Awards - Idaho
The 2005 BetterBricks Awards, which honors the leaders behind the best High Performance Building projects in the Northwest, returned to Idaho for their second year. The award ceremony was held at the Integrated Design Lab in Boise and featured keynote speaker Christine Ervin, former President of the US Green Building Council. The categories of this year's awards changed slightly to better reflect the importance of the entire building life-cycle to high performance. This year the Awards recognized architects, engineers, developers, facility managers, service providers and other building professionals for their support, use and design of sustainable, high performance, commercial buildings in the Boise market. High performance buildings include substantial energy savings, reduced building operation and maintenance costs, enhanced productivity of building occupants, consideration of climate, employing early design decision-making or supporting building commissioning.
